image006SOCINSER, founded in 1996, is a young, dynamic company that designs, manufactures and sells surgical implants and medical equipment. The company was created in order to fill a gap in the market related to engineering and developing new products, providing engineering and manufacturing services for the medical sector. In this sense, they are spurred to evolve continuously by both the medical sector and their own business philosophy as they strive to serve medical professionals as best as possible and promote ongoing, direct communication with customer with the aim of enhancing quality of life. Their ultimate goal is to create products that are met with total satisfaction by doctors and patients alike.

Starting with an original idea, SOCINSER carries out the full range of activities from 3-dimensional modelling to creating prototypes and pre-series, including resistance calculations and biomechanical tests. In order to achieve this, SOCINSER uses cutting-edge technology – CAD (computer-assisted design), machining centres and additive technologies – that enable them to provide solutions right into the field of clinical validation.

SOCINSER will be the project coordinator and the work package leader for WP7.

SOCINSER is an implant manufacturer which wants to provide better quality implants for its customers. Through this project, SOCINSER will be able to acquire the necessary knowledge and equipment to develop improved implants in life duration, mechanical properties, biocompatibility and reduced cost.

  • The next step

    The next step in our novel approach is the application of ZrO2/Zr coating on the implant using Laser Engineered Net Shape techniques to give better wear resistance and lower the possibility of interfacial separation under repeated loading condition.

  • Taking a new route

    NewBioGen is taking a new route to establish methods that yield high precision and quality biomaterials and will validate their increased biocompatibility, wear resistance, corrosion resistance, enhanced mechanical and tribological properties.
